Ray Russell Runs the Blue Ridge Parkway

                                                                                           Congratulations to Ray Russell, founder of raysweather.com-a great resource for local weather forecasts in the High Country, who on June 9th completed a month long run of the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway, from milepost 0 in Waynesboro, Virginia to the southern terminus at the Smoky Mountains 469 miles down the road.  He used the run as a celebration of the National Park Service and as an opportunity to raise money for the  Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation. Drive On The Parkway? Never!Registration is now open for the 2016 Blue Ridge Brutal bicycling challenge. Ashe County’s premier cycling event takes place August 13 and begins in nearby West Jefferson. The routes explore the beautiful scenery of the North Carolina high country including the Blue Ridge Parkway passing right by the Mountain View Lodge. So register for the ride and make your reservations for one of our cabins
